Welcome to Munich

Greeting

Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch

It is a very great pleasure for me to welcome you to Munich, the capital of our Free State of Bavaria. Our state – right in the heart of Europe – is the perfect location for this important congress because of the high standard of our dental schools and of medical research in general.

Bavaria is known for its rich culture and unique traditions but also for its innovative spirit and its excellent conditions for science and research. Our universities and research facilities are regularly at the top of national and international rankings. For example, both universities here in Munich have been awarded the title "Elite University" in the nationwide Excellence Initiative.

Excellence in research and training is also what we need in a highly demanding field like esthetic dentistry. That is why the IFED convention is so invaluable: Internationally renowned experts present their latest findings and are ready to share their experiences with dentists and dental technicians from around the globe. The conference provides a top forum for a passionate discourse and a fruitful interchange of views.

In this spirit, I wish you informative days and discussions that are mutually enriching as well as inspiring for the future. And I hope that you also find some time to explore the cultural and natural treasures of Munich and Bavaria.

IFED Welcome Letter

David Winkler DDS

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure, on behalf of the hosting organization DGÄZ, and in collaboration with IFED, to invite you to the 8th World Congress of IFED, in Munich Germany September 18-21, 2013.

IFED has a tradition, going back to 1994 in Florence Italy, in working with our member academies and societies in bringing to the profession a world class international conference every 2-3 years. Since the European, American and Japanese Academies of Esthetic Dentistry founded IFED, we have subsequently successfully assisted our members in hosting meetings in Kyoto Japan, Washington DC USA, Venice Italy, Seoul Korea, Las Vegas USA, and Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

IFED returns to the centre of Europe for our 8th meeting, which is being hosted by one of the largest European members of the Federation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde e.V., DGAZ. The program will explore in depth the topics which are currently "in vogue" in our profession: and the theme is Practice Meets Science … barriers will be broken down between academician and clinician, so that both perspectives can be brought forward to help answer many of the questions on the minds of our colleagues. The Scientific Chairman, Prof Daniel Edelhoff, has assembled speakers from around-the-world to discuss the challenges facing us in all fields of dentistry, and the scheduling allows considerable time for debate and discussion, both among the presenters, and from the delegates assembled.

The conference will be organized by the Quintessence International Publishing Group who bring their considerable expertise to the event, ensuring that the 3 days run smoothly and efficiently, and creating an atmosphere which will be remembered for years to come.

I look forward to welcoming you all to the beautiful city of Munich next year, in the run up to the renowned Oktoberfest, to celebrate international dentistry at its best!

With warm regards,

IFED Welcome Letter

Prof. Dr. Daniel Edelhoff

It’s time for the Oktoberfest in Munich, just the right time to draw your attention to a splendid international congress next year which coincides perfectly with the extremely popular Oktoberfest: Next year the 8th IFED World Congress Weltkongress is being organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde e.V. (DGAZ) [German Society of Esthetic Dentistry] and Quintessence Publishers. The congress is scheduled to take place from 18th to 21st September 2013 in Munich, a place which is unique not just at this time of year. "IFED" stands for the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry. Almost all prestigious societies for esthetic dentistry are incorporated in this umbrella organization. This organization provides access to the world’s most famous speakers in the field of esthetic dentistry. The president of the DGÄZ, Prof. Robert Sader, the Congress President, Dr. Siegried Marquardt, and the scientific committee of the IFED 2013 have succeeded in bringing together such an unprecedented international program in which top speakers will be participating. This will hopefully motivate you to come to Munich next year and attend the event. You can expect highly topical information on dental implantology, parodontology, endodonty, restorative dentistry, orthodontics and digital technology. Two specialists will speak on each subject. These subject areas will include innovative treatment concepts and details on state-of-the-art materials which will be compared with existing and proven concepts. This will be followed by a lively panel discussion with all the congress participants. You can look forward to up-to-date information with practical relevance!

Furthermore, a special IFED Dental Technician’s Conference was also organized by Mr Siegbert Witkowski (Master Dental Technician) who is well-known for bringing together the world’s most famous speakers in the field of esthetic dental technology. As you can see, it will be an unforgettable congress experience and this will be made even more interesting thanks to the exciting and varied program of events, the numerous cultural activities being offered, the attractive surrounding area and, not least, the Oktoberfest which rounds up the whole event.
Munich is always worth a visit, especially in September 2013.

We shall look forward to welcoming you!

With kind regards from Munich,
