Poster presentation guidelines
The final acceptance email that you will receive will contain your PRESENTATION NUMBER for your poster presentation. You will use your presentation number to locate your poster board. At the posters gallery, look for your presentation number on the top of the poster board. Your "Presentation Number" will be listed in the Program. You MUST incorporate your "Presentation Number" into your poster display. Meeting delegates will look for the "Presentation Number" to find your work. Please do not write, print or paint on the poster board. The board must be used only to attach the poster. A "Poster Presenter" ribbon needs to be picked up on site for you to wear during the meeting. This ribbon will allow you access to the posters gallery to set up and break down your poster when the hall is closed. The evaluation time by the posters’ committee will be from 16:00, Friday September 20th, 2013. Presenters are required to stay in front of their posters during evaluation time. Presenters must be knowledgeable in their subjects and prepared to answer questions in English. Co-authors and/or mentors may be available to assist in answering questions. Posters must remain up until the time specified. IFED will not be responsible for posters and materials left on poster boards after the stated hours.

Poster design
Use the following instructions when preparing your poster:

  • Dimensions of the poster board are 90 cm wide x 120 cm high.
  • Your display should include your "presentation number", the abstract, title, and author(s). The presentation must cover the same material as the abstract.
  • You are free to display your information in figures, tables, text, photography etc.
  • Briefly describe procedures and materials. Define all trade names first and then use generic names throughout the text. All compounds and drugs must be identified.
  • Prepare all illustrations neatly and legibly beforehand, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 8 feet (240 cm). Hand lettering should be at least 3/8 inch (1cm) high. Shade block letters if possible. Remember, all pictures, data, graphics, diagrams and narrative texts must be printed on the poster and without any pinned up or attached materials or papers.
  • It is helpful to viewers if the sequence to be followed is indicated by numbers, letters, or arrows.
  • BRING YOUR OWN double face adhesive tape. DO NOT use velcro, or dinary tape, or staples to mount your poster. The responsibility for setting up the poster is solely of the author.
  • The IFED does not accept responsibility for materials left at the poster board after the break down time.
  • The main author can submit just one poster, but he may be co-author in another main author's poster.
